Local Girl Recognized at Shriner’s Dinner

CLARION, Pa. — Jocalyn Henry was recently invited by Mr. Bill Peck to be the guest of honor at a Shriner’s dinner.

Jocalyn donated birthday gifts a few months ago to the Shriner’s hospital in Erie. The local Shriner’s held a dinner on November 14th where Jocalyn was the guest of honor. She was recognized for her willingness to give at such a young age.

When Jocalyn spoke about the night, she said, “My mom and dad are always saying how blessed they are to have two healthy children. I didn’t expect to get recognition for what I did; I just wanted to brighten the day of a child who lives a life I can’t even imagine.”

Jocalyn was presented a sweatshirt by Mr. Bill Peck with the Shriner’s logo on it as well as a Shriner’s pin.

Jocalyn also stated that “this was the best night of my life! This night has opened the door for so many opportunities for me to continue helping kids.”

She has been given the opportunity to go on a trip to the hospital in Erie this spring. She is also meeting a Shriner’s patient who raises money for the hospital.

Jocalyn plans to continue raising money and donating items to help the families and children of Shriner’s.

She is the daughter of Mike and Robin Henry.
