HUSTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — DuBois-based State Police say around 4:50 p.m. on November 30, an accident occurred on Evergreen Drive, at its intersection with Pine Valley Drive, in Huston Township, Clearfield County.

Police say this accident occurred as a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 42-year-old Michelle L. Endicott, of Penfield, was traveling east on Ponderosa Drive, and as it was turning north onto Pine Valley Drive, it hit a pothole.

According to police, the investigation revealed that two juvenile male passengers — ages 4 and 9 — were sitting on the floorboard of the second row seating area with their feet dangling outside of the vehicle’s opened right passenger sliding door.

Police say when the vehicle hit the pothole, the 4-year-old boy was ejected out of the vehicle. The 9-year-old attempted to grab the 4-year-old and was also ejected from the vehicle.

The right rear wheel traveled over the 4-year-old. He suffered serious injuries and was transported by medical helicopter to UPMC Pittsburgh for treatment, according to police.

The 9-year-old suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital by ambulance, police say.

As of 9:58 p.m. on November 30, neither boy had life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Penfield Volunteer Fire Department; Bennetts Valley Ambulance Service; DuSan Ambulance Service; and Stat-Medevac assisted at the scene.

The investigation continues.
