Charles Frederick “Fred” Smith

1716350_profile_pic[1]Charles Frederick “Fred” Smith, formerly of West Monterey and Clarion, a resident of Golden Years in DuBois, passed away on December 9, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. He was 89 years of age.

Born on July 25, 1926 in West Monterey, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Eva May (Davis) Smith. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He operated the Davis General Store in West Monterey and had worked in shipping and receiving at Clarion University of Pennsylvania prior to retiring.

He attended the Reynoldsville Gospel Center in Reynoldsville, PA.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Esther Smith, of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six brothers and sisters: William S. Smith; Lou Smith; Ken Smith, and wife Gertrude “Tomi”; Clarence Smith, and wife Betty; Joyce B. Smith; and Janet “Connie”, and husband James H. Bowman.

Memorial donations may be made to the Reynoldsville Gospel Center, 2019 Reynoldsville — Falls Creek Rd, Reynoldsville, PA 15851.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. As per Fred’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Reynoldsville Gospel Center.
