RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say around 12:10 p.m. on January 14, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Airport Road, east of Panther Spring Road, in Richland Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, 26-year-old Matthew L. Bashline and 77-year-old Yvonne M. Hetzler, both of Emlenton, were involved in the collision.

Police say this crash occurred as Hetzler was waiting to turn into her driveway, and Bashline failed to observe Hetzler’s 2008 Ford Fusion stopped on the roadway “until it was too late.”

Bashline’s 2010 Dodge Ram struck the Ford in the rear end, according to police.

Both drivers and a female infant in Hetzler’s car were using safety/seat belts and were not injured.

The Ford sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Hovis Towing.

The Dodge had minor front end damage and was driven from the scene.

Bashline was charged with a traffic violation.

Emlenton Fire Department assisted at the scene.
