Leeper Man Accused of Raping 8-Year-Old Boy

LEEPER, Pa. (EYT) — A Leeper man has been charged with the alleged rape of a child that occurred in Leeper, Farmington Township, Clarion County.

According to court documents, criminal charges were filed against 29-year-old Mitchell Lee Altman of Leeper.

According to a criminal complaint, on February 6, 2015, Trooper Kathleen Watters, of Marienville-based State Police, received a report from Clarion County CYS (Child and Youth Services) of suspected child abuse. The report indicated an 8-year-old boy may have been sexually assaulted by Mitchell Altman at a residence located on Gravel Lick Road, in Farmington Township.

The complaint states that on February 18, 2015, a forensic interview was conducted at the Western PA Care for Kids Child Advocacy Center. During the interview, the victim “identified Altman as his abuser.”

The victim “described how Altman had touched his (private area).” The victim also indicated that “Altman made him touch his (private area),” the complaint continues.

Additionally, the victim disclosed that “Altman made him watch pornographic movies” and that Altman had allegedly performed a sexual act on him, according to the complaint.

The criminal complaint indicates the incidents occurred on or about July 25, 2012, to June 15, 2014.

Based on the investigation and the victim’s statements, Trooper Watters requested an arrest warrant be issued for Altman.

A preliminary arraignment was held at 3:15 p.m. on February 5 in front of Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill.

Altman faces the following charges:

  • – Rape of Child, Felony 1
  • – Statutory Sexual Assault: 11 Years Older, Felony 1
  • – Involuntary Indecent Sexual Assault, Person Less Than 16 Yrs Age, Felony 1
  • – Sexual Assault, Felony 2
  • – Aggravated Indecent Assault — Comp. Less Than 13 Years Old, Felony 2
  • – Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1 (three counts)
  • – Indecent Exposure, Misdemeanor 1

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on February 16 with Judge Schill presiding.
