ALLEGHENY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred early yesterday morning on State Route 36 (Tionesta Road), north of Temperance House Road, in Allegheny Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 2:20 a.m. on February 13, 45-year-old Darrin P. Crabtree, of Pittsfield, was traveling south on Route 36 in the southbound lane. He lost control of his 2000 Cadillac Escalade for an unknown reason, and the vehicle began to spin clockwise. The vehicle then traveled off the western berm of the roadway while facing northwest and down an approximate 10 feet deep embankment.

The vehicle overturned onto its roof as it traveled down the embankment and came to a final rest on its roof at the bottom of the embankment, according to police.

He was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Police indicate the crash involved alleged DUI.
